Life is Magical... with my LOVE - Altered Project :)

Hey peeps!
How are you all doing!!

This post will let you step in the weekend with more fun :)
You all might have seen my DT kit from Craftyscrappers. If not, you can view it here.

The stuff is so tempting and high quality that you won't be able to resist. Today, as DT member of Craftyscrappers, I am happy to share yet another creation of mine using beautiful stamp, stencils and die cuts from Konica - Craftyscrappers and shining sequins from Madras Bazaar.

You know what, I loved working on these because of above mentioned reason and also because that's so close to me. Title suggests some and rest will be revealed right here right now... I altered the tin case of my favorite fountain pen. The case was in silver, pen is golden and black in color. Don't you think it's a mismatch? So here I put on my crafty gloves to make them a perfect match. Have a look:

Brief tutorial:
1. Apply white Gesso on the tin box on the outer side and on the top inner side.

2. Mix the powdered metallic paint in modge podge to form a liquid color ad apply all over the surface of the case - on outer side.

3. Take the red distress ink, the Circle & hearts stencil and make the pattern evenly on both the pieces. It will look like this:

4. Now I have gathered some chinna minna stuff, embellishments and a huge flower with a pretty sentiment.
5. Then I colored the inner base with red and simply pasted the 'my love' sentiment. I wanted it to be simple elegant and pretty matching with my pen.

Stuff I have used:
1. Stencil: Circle & Hearts; CODE: CS-STNL-01
2. Stamp for the sentiment: Magical Birthday designed by Shobha Agarwal; CODE: ST-BD-11
3. Die cuts: CODE: CS-DCS-01
All above 3 from Craftyscrappers!

4. Sequins: The Blushing Sunrise sequins from Madras Bazaar.

I hope you all liked this. :)

Thanks for watching guys!
Keep crafting and stay happy!!

Splash the colors on cute faces - Watercolor card!

Hello dearies,
How are you all doing? The weather is nice here, there too? You must already be enjoying the cool & rainy weather and to treat your eyes, I have another creation of mine to enjoy while you sip your coffee. :) This is a new try by me - water color backgrounds. I tried in my last creation(Bokeh Technique) too but that was too basic. Here I tried using the color mixing to create a background for holi card. Showcasing this card as an inspiration on Craftyscrappers. You can check other Holi themed creations from talented crafters here.

Let's have a look at I successfully created:

This is how I enjoyed making the background:

Base was colored as yellow and the red was splattered over it.
Next was blue in action; have a look!

Isn't it fun? You must try once... it is. And yes, if you are an expert in this, do share your tips, creations and experiences. :)

Please note if you want that cute stamp set, you'll get it from Craftyscrappers Shop and yes that bright embellishment too.

The codes of the stamp sets are: ST-US-01 & ST-FEST-15
To buy the stamp sets, you can email Konica at: craftyscrappers@gmail.com

Waiting to see your creations & opinions!

Creating backgrounds with Bokeh technique - handmade cards | Tutorial

Hello Lovely readers!!
Hope you all are fantastic even with this falling temperature... but am shivering hard since morning... It's too cold here.. ;) But if you have coffee, some colors, new things on mind, you rarely care about cold. Right? Yeah!! I did the same :D

I am on to another challenge by Craftyscrappers today and for the inspiration, we are working, as a team, on multiple new techniques to share with you guys. Once such new technique is Bokeh technique. I have created the background with the same and created this attractive card. The technique is basically a Japanese word which means blur.  Yes. Using the colors, we tend to blur the background color and give some amazing effects.

I tried few things in the beginning and created some amazing backgrounds - water color backgrounds and found that the results are good on dark colored backgrounds. Since it's my first try, it's not the perfect. Everything has a room for improvement so as they. :) Have a look at what the outcome is and detailed info after that. :)

This is the base that came up as I used the Bokeh technique on the water colored background.

Some of the backgrounds that taught me that only darker backgrounds will be more efficient are shown below:

Can you see the light circles in color white? The effect is present but least visible. May be I needed some darker ink.

Detailed Tutorial:

Requisites for the background: Plain white cardstock, water colors or distress inks or faber castle sketches. I preferred water colors for its dark colors; water brushes, white ink, daubers, stencils.
1. Spill the colors as you want and create a nice background using water colors.
2. Take the stencil, I used circular ones. Use white ink with daubers and cover the circle with white ink.
This will create an impression as the background is being lightened.
3. Repeat the process at various places with different sizes.
Once you feel sufficient, the background is done.

Materials used for the card:
Black ribbon, die cuts, red and black ink, stamp set.
Materials used:

Stamp set and die cuts are from Craftyscrappers. :)

So, this was it for the time being gals. I hope you enjoyed it thoroughly. I enjoyed creating this a lot. Do let me know your views on the same. :)

Till then, take care and keep crafting!!

Cheers!
